About Us

My name is Janiesha Minus but most people call me "Nu." I am the CEO of Make Me Nu Beauty Services which was founded in 2018 while in school trying to obtain an esthetic license. When deciding on a business name, I wanted it to be personal by paying homage to my late Aunt who played a very important role in my life. I decided on " Make Me Nu" as a play on words for "Nu" which is a nickname that she gave to me as a child.  It fit nicely because my products and services always leave you feeling "Nu."

I started esthetician school to originally just have a trade and to learn more about body waxing. However, while there I fell in love with skin care. Performing facials and body treatments became almost second nature to me. Skincare has always been big for me and I came up with some natural product recipes of my own to help my skin. After using them for a while I took sample sizes to work and got a few of co-workers and supervisors to test them out. Everyone who tried the products fell in love with them so I made the decision to make the products available for purchase.

I am so grateful for the outpour of support from all over the country that I have received since starting my business. What started off as something I was making for myself turned into helping so many people of all races, especially people of color, to correct their skin and fall in love with their natural beauty.

We live in a world where people are treated differently based on the color of their skin. Some which are told makes them less beautiful. As an African American woman, I urge all people, especially people of color, to love the skin they are in. We all look different and have our own beauty. Everyone was made equal and should be treated as such regardless of skin color, gender, ethic group, religion, and etc.

I stand with the Black Lives Matter movement even when it is not trending and I support black owned businesses. We are capable of becoming just as successful as anyone else in this world. Economically empowering our black businesses over time will allow us to continue to support our black community in more ways than one and see change  to continue to unfold. We urge you to stay informed, continue to learn, continue to put your money where your mouth is and continue to fight!

ALL BLACK LIVES MATTER!
